What We Do

Gleaning is the act of gathering leftover fruits or vegetables after a harvest. Much of the food left after a harvest is edible, but not up to market standards, ie, it is too small, too big, or imperfect in some way. Sometimes we are invited to glean because there is a surplus. You will get to work outdoors with other volunteers to bring back fresh nutritious food to The Community Kitchen.
